MMU Tagline and The Informations

Come to the last part, I want to add the information about the open day and the tagline of MMU.

1.    Use Horizontal Type Tool to type the information about the open day.

2.    To change the text colour, click the colour box at the toolbar and choose the which can match the overall  e-wallpaper.

3.    There are two ways to adjust the text scale, either can choose the font size at the toolbar, or click
Edit --> Transform --> Scale to adjust.

4.   After done the text part, I added the MMU tagline to the e-wallpaper.

The e-wallpaper done!

MMU logo

Now, I want to add the MMU logo to the e-wallpaper.

1.    Click File --> Open to choose the MMU logo picture from my folder.

2.    Use Magic Wand Tool to highlight the whole MMU logo. As the picture below, the selected part is surrounded by dotted line.
3.    Make sure the layer of the MMU logo is unlock.

4.    Press Delete, the white colour background of the logo was deleted.
5.    Click Select --> Deselect as the picture I show below.

6.    Drag the MMU logo to the e-wallpaper page!
7.    Move the logo to the upper center of the e-wallpaper.

Add accessories for eBee!

After added eBee to the e-wallpaper, now I want to add some accessories on eBee.

1.    I open another new page by click File --> New, then set the Preset to International Paper
2.    Click File --> Open to open a picture from my folder.
3.    Use Quick Selection Tool to select the mortar board in the picture.

4.    Picture below show the mortar board after selected is surrounded by dotted line. Press Ctrl + C to cut the picture.

5.    Go to the e-wallpaper page, press Ctrl + V to paste the mortar board.

6.    Back to the page I opened just now, Click Select --> Deselect to remove the dotted line.

7.    Same as step 3 and 4, after use Magic selection Tool to select the certificate then press Ctrl + C to cut.

8.    Press Ctrl + V to paste the certificate at the e-wallpaper page.

9.    After paste all the pictures to e-wallpaper page, now start to do the adjustment. First, adjust the scale of the eBee. Click Edit --> Transform --> Scale. Use Move tool to move the mortar broad to eBee's head.

10.    Same step used to adjust the scale of the mortar broad and move it.

11.    Due to the mortar broad's angle does not suit the eBee, so click Edit --> Transform --> Flip Horizontal.

12.    Click Edit --> Transform --> Rotate, to adjust the mortar broad until it suit on eBee's head.

Picture after the eBee is wearing the mortar board!

13.    Same way to adjust the scale, rotate and move the certificate.

Done!
I realize the background is too bright after put in the eBee, because some of the part of eBee cannot see clearly. So, I decide to delete the layer of level adjustment by drag the layer to the recycle bin icon at the bottom of the right hand side.

Done! =)

Add MMU mascot--------> eBee

I plan to add MMU mascot --- eBee as a part of  design in e-wallpaper.

1.    Open another new page to cut the picture out. Click File --> New, set the preset to International paper.
2.    To insert the picture I want to use , I click File --> Open to open the eBee picture.

3.     Click Quick Selection Tool, select the area that I want to cut.
4.     Press Ctrl + C, to cut the selected area.

5.     Back to the main page with MMU building background, Press Ctrl + V to paste.

6.     Because the area between eBee legs couldn't cut out, so I use Background Eraser Tool to erase that area.

The picture above shown the result after the eBee's legs had edited.

Background

To start the e-wallpaper, first I would like to do the background.

1.   Open Adobe Photoshop CS5.
2.   Click File --> New, a box will appear on screen as the picture I show below, set the  Preset to  International paper. Next, I changed the Width and Height inversely so the size of paper changed from portrait to landscape. Now, the Width is 297mm and Height is 210mm, you will notice now the present I changed at the start already changed to Custom.
3.   Click Ok.

4.    Click File --> Open, select the picture I want to use for the e-wallpaper background from the folder in computer.

5.    Because the colour is too dark, so I decide to adjust the colour levels to brighter. Click Adjustment --> Levels, change the middle column to 2.22 as the picture I shown below.

Done!!! The background looks brighter now.
